Innovation in Gag Design

For the better part of the last decade, Serafina and I were caregivers for a sick parent. And, for the most part, it was an around the clock job. So, we had little time to ourselves, and, we had far less time and energy than we would have liked to devote to our relationship and BDSM.
All of that changed last year. Along with a resurgence of time and energy to devote to each other, I also began to re-immerse myself into the world of BDSM gear, and that's when I discovered Scott Paul Designs.
I first found his products among gags at The Stockroom and Mr-S Leather. That was where I discovered the Humiliator Gag. Eventually curiosity led me to use Google to find out more.
In retrospect, I realize I was fairly late to the party. Scott Paul Designs, part of a growing wave of what some are calling Kinktrepreneurs, has been offering unique and innovative gear for a number of years.
I've picked up more than a little Scott Paul Gear for use here in Samadhi House, and no, my purchases didn't include the Humiliator Gag, at least not yet. With that said, I can vouch for the outstanding quality of the gear I have purchased from one of my favorite BDSM vendors. I'll try and post a full scale Vendor Review to accompany this post, as this isn't the proper venue to go into great detail about the unique sensation toys, blindfold, collar, and spreader bar I've purchased. It is the appropriate place to discuss the very versatile gag I also picked up.
Quick Switch Gag
Like I said, I didn't buy the Humiliator, as I do not believe Serafina is ready for such a device. Instead, my gag purchase from Scott Paul Designs was the Quick-Switch 3 Gag System.
Here's that particular gag's product description:
Enjoy three different gags in one convenient kit. Scott Paul has designed a unique, three way, interchangeable gag system. This three gag system contains one Bite Tight Bit Gag, one Get-a-Grip Ball Gag, and one Elliptical Open Mouth Ring Gag. All three gags are held in place by the same neck strap found on many popular Scott Paul gags. The gags easily snap in and out of the neck strap.
In addition to the quick change three-way design, the ball gag itself is unusual. The rubber ball has thick flexible ridges (or fins) around its entire circumference. These fins provide a space for the teeth. This leads to a snugger fit and results in less jaw fatigue.
That's a great feature for us, as Serafina has a history of having occasional issues with TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorder.) Gags that stretch her mouth wide open can exacerbate those issues. For the same reason, we choose the smallest ring gag, as it's the least likely to set off wicked spasms in Serafina's jaw when used for any decent period of time.
In a perfect world, with no consideration for expense, I might purchase all three gags separately, as there are some interesting options for the individual gags. But, for use by Serafina and I here at Samadhi House, the quick switch gag is just right.
Humiliator Gag
The gag that made Scott Paul Designs famous is the Humiliator Gag. It is a serious gag for individuals who are serious about their BDSM play. It's also an absolute dream for those who like to include a bit of Forniphilia into their BDSM activities.
If you aren't familiar with forniphilia, it's because you haven't been following along, not because I haven't tried to make you more fully informed. I wrote about it here on this blog back in November - What is Forniphilia?
The Humiliator Gag is probably the single most accessorized piece of BDSM gear I've ever encountered. Combined with it's accessories, it truly does create a systematic way to not just gag your submissive, but to also make the gag a tool in their service.
Here's Scott Paul's own description of his creation:
